About the Artist

For 20 years, I have worked professionally as an artist, painting in Barcelona, Cádiz, Granada and Whitstable-all inspiring places. I love to experiment with oil paint and am in awe of the endless possibilities with this medium. I also enjoy working with acrylics, graphite, charcoal and pastels. My work is largely representative, comprising several portraits + I also like to create monoprints, making marks, usually through thinned oil paint on glass. When painting, I often use intense colours, sometimes, taking big risks, abandoning my brush in favour of lavish injections of paint. Despite these seemingly random acts, I am concerned with precision and motivated to create something that feels true-to-me...aiming for a genuine response to my subject, yet at the same time, moving the viewer in some way.
